Kind to take the time to look at my blog, i'm a creative person
with emphasis on photography. I use a lot of different cameras,
from pinhole, technical camera, mid-range or digital reflex
to the mobile phone photo option.
Besides my photographic work
you will also get glimses
of some drawing and writing on this blog.

My love for images is neverending and the keen interest of photography
started out already as a little boy. Sometimes I nicked my dads
Yashica tl-electro camera, went to my favorite spot in the country on my little bike,
made one or two photo's, and biked quickly back home to put the camera
back in the bag before he found out. Afterwards I had to work hard to
motivate my dad to make some pictures, or I just ask him if his roll of
film was already full, because I was everytime so tremendously
curious, like a little boy,... about my images. And everytime my
dad looked through his new freshly developed photos from the shop he said
things like "hey, this is not my photo...I think I have to bring them
back".... Later on I did it the proper way and went to the Academy for
Photograhpy in Haarlem.

Now I have my studio in Ateliers Baztille, Zoetermeer

la vie silencieuse du paysage

Jeroen verheugd fait montre, photographiant les paysages, de la même pudeur que pour ses portraits. Il les saisit avec une distance respectueuse, leur laissant le luxe d’une pose qui se voudrait naturelle. Cette distance perspective leur laisse le champ et l’heur de se déployer, voilés d’un certain abandon, le temps d’être. Le temps d’être exposés. Exposés au regard comme par inadvertance, êtres et paysages, tranquilles dans leur moment particulier, solitaires et silencieux, intemporels, baignent dans cette lumière que l’on pourrait qualifier de flamande. Celle des champs de Verdun, d’une aube humide dans la haute vallée de l’Aude, cette lumière qui baigne la nature, non pas morte, mais silencieusement vivante : stil leven. Vie silencieuse du temps révélée par l’émotion du photographe.

Les Images de Jeroen verheugd exposent le drame tranquille et quelconque de la vie dans sa terrible simplicité. Désastre badin révélé avec l’élégance discrète et bienveillante, le détachement tranquillement désespéré de ceux qui voient la vie. Ephémère est l’instant, déchirure dans le tissu du temps duquel l’artiste semble voiler la nudité de son âme.

La photographie de Jeroen verheugd pose son regard sur la surface désolée de l’absence, la vie silencieuse du paysage.
